One hundred days of pie: No.6 The Crusty Cob

Oops sorry I missed a day yesterday, I was sorting out the 16 page photo section you see. In other developments, Mrs Life of Pies (a teacher) is doing a full and thorough final proof read of the book.

This is both good and bad. Good because she’s ripping it to pieces and sorting out all the grammar and punctuation. Bad because she’s ripping it to pieces and sorting out all the grammar and punctuation. Still I’ve had my first review. She says:

“It’s really good, in fact it’s brilliant but your punctuation is bloody terrible”

You might think that my missus is biased but trust me, she’d delight in telling me it’s a pile of shit if she thinks it is.

It’s adding a few more days to the production schedule but I begrudgingly admit it will be better for it. I only get one shot at this printing lark.

I mentioned today’s pie on Friday. It’s in Manchester and off the beaten track a little, situated on the edge of an estate as you head towards the Etihad.

I had this pie during the first month of the book in January 2012 and it was the first one that truly blew me away. You’ll have to buy the book to find out whether it went the distance because it’s a (pie-eating) marathon not a sprint.

I’d also evidently not learned how to use my camera properly at this stage either.

If you can’t wait well, in the meantime here’s another review with better photography:

There’s another 313 pies like the above featured in Life of Pies. If you want to order a copy of the book for just £9.99 plus postage please click this link

You’ll receive it as soon as I’ve finished my pie!
