dickinsonchickenWhoops! Nearly forgot to give you a pie. On Saturday of all days a man/woman needs a pie.

Forgive me I’m currently in the final throes of proof reading and making more changes than a set of Parisian traffic lights. When the “Life of Pies” book finally goes to the printers sometime over the next week or so, you will be able to hear a noise which sounds suspiciously like a grown man weeping tears of joy no matter where you are in the British Isles.

I’ve literally had no life these past few months other than work and book but the finishing line is edging closer and I’m very happy with how it’s looking.

It’s a creamy chicken pie from Ye Olde Pie Shoppe in Melton Mowbray purchased at the knockdown price of a quid during my pilgrimage there this time last year. It was every bit as creamy as advertised although I ate this late at night several hours after returning from Melton Mowbray in a semi-drunken stupor. Any further review therefore would be pure speculation, so I’ll leave you to admire it’s form.

If you want to read a more substantial review of my trip to Melton Mowbray, then it happens to be here and it’s the popular story on this here website: http://www.lifeofpies.co.uk/300-up-and-a-pie-pilgrimage
