100 DAYS OF PIE: THE FIRST ENTRY. NB THE BOOK IS NOW AVAILABLE
If you’re up to date with my pie based excursions you’ll be aware that Life of Pies – the inaugural book of pastry based adventure will shortly be on its way to the printers. Given that printing take 3 months and there’s another week or so of proof reading and finalising before releasing this beast, I reckon it’s around about 100 days away.
Does that sound a long time or a short time? I’ve no idea but I figured the best way to count down those remaining days was via the medium of pies and see how close we get.
If I’m true to my word then the official book launch date will be around about the 21st October. Let’s see…..
Anyway, here’s my pie of the day.
It’s from Rounds of Preston and it took my fancy when I was proof reading earlier. Looks delicious doesn’t it?
Rounds are a corner shop bakery full of local charm and pies sold at knockdown prices. Preston is at the heart of baking the meat and potato the Lancastrian way – essentially it’s nearly all potato with a few isolated little chunks of mince floating about as in the good old days meat was scarcely affordable.
There’s another 313 pies like the above featured in Life of Pies. If you want to order a copy of the book for just £9.99 plus postage please click this link to order www.lifeofpies.co.uk/buy
You’ll receive it as soon as I’ve finished this pie!
